ACAL3: Acoustic Emission Calibrator
Precise AE-signals for system check-out and calibration

A very useful tool for checking and calibrating all kinds of multi-channel AE systems. It provides a means to electrically generate artificial signals which can be used to qualify the measurement chain (preamps, channels,...). Providing a large variety of settings it allows precise and quick verification of system performance.

Operation Modes:

  • AE-signals
  • Burst of sine-waves
  • Continuous sine-waves
Trigger Modes:
  • Manual (Single shot switch)
  • Internal (Repetition rate adjustable)
  • External (BNC-socket, low-to-high transition starts a signal)
  • Trigger Output (triggers second or third ACAL3)
  • Trigger Delay (1 to 9900µs for defined delta-t-generation)

Flexible Parameter Settings:

  • Amplitude, range: 20-149 dB
  • Trigger-delay, range: 1-9900 µs
  • Burst-width, range: 10-1000 µs
  • Frequency, range: 16-900 kHz
  • Rise-time, range: 10-1000 µs
  • Decay-time, range: 10-10000 µs
  • Repetition period, range: 1-1000 ms
  • Attenuator ratio: 119dB
  • Attenuator impedance: 50 Ohm
  • Signal-to-Noise-Ratio: > 63dB
(at 99dB, a threshold of 36dB suppresses false signals)
