  • Larger multi-channel systems (any number of channels possible) are based on full 19" racks.
  • Industrial grade PC built-in, e.g. Pentium™ 400 MHz, 128 MB RAM, >12 GB HDD, 1,44 MB FDD.

User-friendly:

  • Strong BNC-connectors for preamplifiers and parametric inputs, easy to access at the front panels.
  • Front panel LED's give system status information, such as threshold crossing, preamplifier not connected, calibration-mode, buffer empty/full, recording enabled/disabled, HDD-access, and more. 
  • Front panel switches for Power, AE- and TR-data recording, audio selection, range selection, and more.
  • Built-in pulser can generate pulse trains with amplitudes of up to 400VPP. Manually and software adjustable.
  • Audio monitoring unit and internal speaker make AE-signals from selected channels audible.
  • Multiple AMSY4 systems can be combined and synchronized via master-slave connection.

 


Complete 36-channel
AE-System with built-in PC
High Performance Hardware:
  • 10 Msamples/s 16-bit ADC (analogue to digital converter) per AE-channel.
  • Very low noise is accomplished through linear power supply regulation and sophisticated internal screening precautions: <310 µVPk (99% of samples) at ±5 V range, 10 Msample/s, open 50 Ohm input.
  • Differential input for preamplifier line. Floating preamplifier avoids the amplification of ground loop noise.
  • Single BNC-cable to the preamplifier carries the AE-signal, the preamplifier DC supply, the preamplifier gain control information and the calibration pulse.
  • 2 software selectable high-pass modules, 54dB/octave to cut off low-frequency noise.
  • High density FPGA (field programmable gate array) for AE-feature extraction. The capability of loading programs from the PC into the channels allows for flexible adaptation to application dedicated needs.
  • Multiplier-chip delivers squared ADC-value (30 bit) for fast True Energy and True RMS accumulation.
  • Extra large temporary buffers for both, hit data (up to 400.000 hits) and transient data (up to 16 Msamples per channel) available.
  • DSP-power: 50 (optional 100) million 32-bit floating point operations per second.
  • 2 (optional 4 or 8) parametric inputs (16-bit ADC 100 Ksample/s) for load, temperature, etc..
  • Each parametric input is isolated up to 100 V against ground to avoid ground loop and common mode problems. Overvoltage protection by varistors.
  • ±10 V or ±1 V range selectable for each parametric input.
  • Parametric input can also be used for cyclic load counting and voltage controlled data recording.
  • Digital inputs for up/down counter, data recording enable/disable, external trigger.
Audio Monitoring Unit:
  • Audio monitoring unit with internal speaker makes the AE-signals from selected channels audible.
  • Audio on/off selector switch for each channel.
  • As many channels as desired can be selected for simultaneous audio monitoring.
  • Front panel controls for audio sensitivity (audio threshold) and volume.
Pulser for Auto-calibration and Acousto-ultrasonics Applications:
  • Internal calibration pulser generates pulse trains up to 400VPP.
  • Software selectable number of pulses per pulse train.
  • Auto-calibration under software control.
  • Additional calibration pulse output for acousto-ultrasonic applications.
  • Pulse amplitude manually adjustable in "local" mode or software selectable in "remote" mode.
Software:
  • The AMSY4 software is based on the powerful and mature AMS3 package and shares many of its features:
  • Location options include: linear, planar, cylindrical, spherical, multi-triplet, tank bottom & 3-D algorithms.
  • Multi-tasking approach to data acquisition and analysis allows the user to add plots and change analysis parameters during the test, without disturbing data acquisition.
  • Powerful cluster toolbox, with cluster editor and cluster filter options.
  • On-line data filtering, labelling facility, rotatable 3-D plots, data zoom (by using start/stop criteria) and more.
