ASCO-P:
Acoustic Signal Conditioner

Growing defects, such as crack initiation, crack growth, fiber breakage, debonding of surfaces as well as other mechanisms produce AE (Acoustic Emission, 100-300 kHz). In brittle material even microscopic cracks can be detected. The new AE-Signal Conditioner ASCO-P lets you now monitor the growth of defects - as it happens - at very low costs.

What the ASCO-P delivers:
ASCO-P outputs a slowly changing APK-signal (APK: Acoustic Peak Energy) which represents short (µs-time scale), high frequency AE-bursts in the amplitude range 30µV to 200mV (30 to 106dBAE). The APK signal can be recorded in combination with other testing parameters like stress, strain, bending, temperature, etc.. A low-speed low-cost data acquisition recorder is sufficient. Recommended recorder specifications are: 50 Hz sampling rate, 0-5VDC measurement range, 10 bit resolution. You don't need any special software: The APK-signal versus time, in combination with the other testing parameters, shows precisely, when the damage in the test specimen grows. Additionally, a digital event output allows for external event counting / triggering. By internal plug-in filter modules, the ASCO-P can be adapted to the frequency range 20-100kHz, 100-300kHz, or 300-800kHz. For applications which require deeper analysis, we recommend our high-end AE-analysis system model AMSY-5 or AMSY4.

The ASCO-P including piezoelectric AE-Sensor (VS150-M) and power supply represents a unique price-value ratio. Stepping into AE-technology has never been easier and better priced. Don't lose valuable AE information! ASCO-P makes AE monitoring easy and affordable.
